Helping You, Helping the Village
Great Blakenham Parish Council is made up of seven elected councillors who work together to support the village and represent the local community. Elections are held every four years, with the most recent taking place in May 2023 when all seven seats were filled uncontested.
Parish Council Noticeboards
There are five Parish Council noticeboards around the village where you can find meeting dates, agendas, local news, and community information:
If you’d like to advertise a local club, group, or community event, please get in touch with the Parish Clerk to ask about space on the boards.
Council Meetings
The Parish Council meets regularly throughout the year, and residents are welcome to come along. Meeting dates and agendas are posted on the noticeboards and published on this website in advance.
Annual Meetings
The Annual Parish Meeting is usually held in April or May and is open to everyone registered to vote in Great Blakenham. It’s a chance to hear about what the Council has been working on over the past year, including local projects and finances.
The Annual Meeting of the Council also takes place in May, when councillors choose the Chairman and Vice-Chairman for the coming year.
